Sheldon Keefe gives positive update on Maple Leafs Star Mitch Marner
Mitch Marner has been missing for a few weeks now, but according to Head Coach Sheldon Keefe, things are looking up for the star forward with a potential return coming soon.
While the Toronto Maple Leafs have kept winning in his absence, some fans have become concerned that Mitch Marner has remained out following an injury sustained several weeks ago against the Boston Bruins. There's been several updates since that point, with optimism around a potential return, and now, Head Coach Sheldon Keefe has added to that positivity with a great update.
Mitch Marner upgraded to day-to-day. Progressing well, per Keefe.
Morgan Rielly a game-time decision with injury.
Joel Edmundson won't play. He's day to day.
Joseph Woll starts for Leafs.

According to Sheldon Keefe, Marner is progressing well, and after being upgraded to day-to-day on the Injury Report, it appears that he may be ready to return to practice in the coming days.
There's no concrete timeline for a return to game action, but given that the Maple Leafs find themselves still comfortably in a playoff spot in the Atlantic Division, the medical staff have been patient with a return. With the Maple Leafs star studded forward group and improving goaltending, they're in as good a spot as ever to go on a deep Stanley Cup Playoff run, but they'll need Marner to do so, so expect more key updates in the coming days.
