Edmonton Oilers forward injures himself at practice and storms off in frustration
The Oilers were practising today when Kasperi Kapanen appeared to injure himself and subsequently stormed off the ice in frustration, knocking over sticks.
Kasperi Kapanen was not a happy camper at practice for the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday, especially since he had been working his way back from an injury.
What Kasperi Kapanen did that has many worried
Today, he left the ice as the Oilers were stretching, slamming his stick on the bench and hitting several other sticks that flew everywhere. Ryan Rishaug of TSN noted that Kapanen appeared to hurt himself at some point in one of the drills.
"Kapanen appeared to hurt himself. Extremely frustrated as he left the ice. Been working his way back for some time now and was set to return."

Both Kapanen and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had been staking on their own lately, and both also recently joined the team at practices now that the Oilers are at home for a few days.
Why this appears could be a serious injury
He's been looking good, moving quickly, and seemingly ready for a return Saturday night. That has to be in question now, based on his reaction, as he was visibly upset, and he truly knew that it was not good.
Kapanen has two assists in six appearances so far this season after scoring five goals and 13 points in 57 games with the Oilers last year.
The Oilers, with a record of 10-10-5, are sixth in the Pacific Division and have lost four of their past five games. They need to right the ship quickly before the season slips too far away, and they will need healthy bodies back.
