The Oilers and injuries seem to go together hand in hand this season, and now, Curtis Lazar and Noah Philp will miss the remainder of the team's road trip.

The Edmonton Oilers will be without forwards Noah Philp and Curtis Lazar for the remainder of their seven-game road trip, head coach Kris Knoblauch confirmed after the team's morning skate in Washington, DC, today.

The injuries that Noah Philp and Curtis Lazar are dealing with

According to the above post from Bob Stauffer on X, both Noah Philp and Curtis Lazar are dealing with upper-body injuries and will be unavailable for the next few games at least.
The Oilers are currently in the midst of their seven-game road trip out east and are already missing Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Kasperi Kapanen, so adding two more names to the injured list comes at a terrible time.

Why the Oilers will be using just 11 forwards moving ahead

With the Oilers being so close to the salary cap, Stauffer added that the team will run an 11-forward, seven-defenceman lineup rather than making a recall from the AHL.
Philp has scored two goals and has one assist through 15 games this season, settling into a depth role that has seen him rotate between the fourth line and the press box.
He logged 6:23 of ice time and finished with a minus-one rating in Monday's blowout loss to the Sabres. Lazar has only one goal in nine games and has been used primarily as a checking forward and penalty killer.
He played 9:03 on Monday in Buffalo, posting a rough minus-two rating with one shot on goal. Losing both players wipes out two regulars from Edmonton's bottom six, a group that was already struggling to generate much of anything in recent games.
Their absences leave the Oilers thin up front and limit Kris Knoblauch's options as the road trip winds down, especially since the team is already dealing with other injuries.
