Troy Stecher takes a dig at the Edmonton Oilers after being claimed off waivers by the Toronto Maple Leafs
Tonight, during a new interview former Edmonton Oilers defenseman Troy Stecher took a shot at the organization.
Earlier this month, the Edmonton Oilers placed defenseman Troy Stecher on waivers hoping to assign him to the AHL.
Instead, Stecher was claimed by the Toronto Maple Leafs and recently arrived to his new team.
Ahead of his first action with the Maple Leafs, Stecher spoke to Mike Johnson and took a dig at the Edmonton Oilers after leaving.

During the discussion with Johnson, Stecher was asked about the pressure of coming to a team that was underperforming with high expectations.
He was specifically asked about being «thrown into the fire» and in his response Stecher quipped that he had already left the fire.
This comment insinuates that the Edmonton Oilers' group is a dumpster fire this season and that the Toronto Maple Leafs situation is already better than his previous home.
This is a massive claim from Stecher who played just six games with the Edmonton Oilers before being placed on waivers this season.
While it is no secret that the Edmonton Oilers are struggling this season the Maple Leafs have been arguably much worse with less positive signs in sight.
In his first game with the Maple Leafs, Stecher had a standout performance already becoming one of the best defensemen on the team.
Over the next few weeks, it will be interesting to see if Stecher's comments end up being true or if he struggles in his time with the Maple Leafs as well.
