Team USA has unveiled its complete roster for the upcoming Olympics, with several unexpected names joining the group as well as some surprising omissions.
Winnipeg Jets stars Connor Hellebuyck and Kyle Connor were among the 19 players officially named to the United States' 25-player men's hockey roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics on Friday.
Several new names were added compared to the 4 Nations Face-Off roster, including Buffalo Sabres centre Tage Thompson, Utah Mammoth captain Clayton Keller, and Florida Panthers defenceman Seth Jones.
Two players that are no longer on the roster from the 4 Nations
New York Rangers defenceman Adam Fox and Anaheim Ducks forward Chris Kreider were not retained from that group.
The roster includes two players with prior Olympic experience. Ottawa Senators defenceman Jake Sanderson and Minnesota Wild blueliner Brock Faber both represented Team USA at the 2022 Beijing Games.
Forwards: Brady Tkachuk, Jack Eichel, Matthew Tkachuk, Jake Guentzel, Auston Matthews, Matt Boldy, Kyle Connor, Jack Hughes, Tage Thompson, J.T. Miller, Dylan Larkin, Brock Nelson, Vincent Trocheck, Clayton Keller
Defence: Quinn Hughes, Charlie McAvoy, Jaccob Slavin, Brock Faber, Zach Werenski, Seth Jones, Jake Sanderson, Noah Hanifin
Goaltenders: Connor Hellebuyck, Jake Oettinger, Jeremy Swayman

The omissions that left many fans surprised
Notable omissions remain a major talking point. Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson, Montreal Canadiens players Cole Caufield and Lane Hutson, and Toronto Maple Leafs winger Matthew Knies were left off again after also missing the 4 Nations roster last winter. Canucks' Brock Boeser was also snubbed.
Team USA had already locked in its first six players during the summer, naming forwards Auston Matthews, Jack Eichel, Brady Tkachuk, and Matthew Tkachuk, along with defencemen Quinn Hughes and Charlie McAvoy.
Hughes missed the 4 Nations tournament due to injury, while McAvoy was sidelined after the second game.
In goal, Hellebuyck returns alongside Dallas Stars netminder Jake Oettinger and Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman, repeating the same trio used at the 4 Nations Face-Off.
After an overtime loss to Canada in the 4 Nations final, general manager Bill Guerin enters the Olympic cycle with heightened expectations.
The United States recently captured gold at the IIHF World Championship in May, its first title at the event in 92 years, with Thompson scoring the overtime winner in the final. Team USA opens Olympic play against Latvia on Feb. 12.
