The Detroit Red Wings were once an easy favorite to make the playoffs. Now the team's chances have plummeted as the team has run into a wall.

Massive Losing Streaks Knocks Red Wings Out Of Playoff Spot

The team has lost their last seven games in a row, going back to before the trade deadline. The latest loss against the Buffalo Sabres punctuated the losing streak with a big exclamation mark. The team lost 7-3 and looked absolutely brutal defensively, a common theme throughout the season for the team.

The loss cemented the Red Wing's first six-game losing streak since 2020.

This has lead to tensions boiling over. Lucas Raymond got into an altercation with Ben Chiarot during the team's practice this morning.

Kane Addresses Heated Altercation During Red Wings Practice

The young forward appeared to be upset at Chiarot, possibly for not practicing seriously. Notably, the veteran defenseman has been among the worst players in the league defensively this year. At times it looks like he isn't even trying.

Frustration at Red Wings practice. Ben Chiarot and Lucas Raymond got into at practice and had to be broken up.

Fans have had a field day with this drama, making fun of the Red Wings for this untimely collapse.

The drama inspired Red Wings newcomer Patrick Kane to speak up. The veteran winger called out his team for playing poorly, citing the incident as the kind of passion the players should be showing on the ice during games.

"I don't think it's a bad thing. I'd be more worried if we were walking around here all smiles, happy and everything's okay. I think it's good to get a little frustrated as long as you harness it in the right way. Frustration can create a lot of positive energy as well, whether it's practicing like you play, or just playing harder tomorrow."

Regardless of how the team responds, their playoff hopes are now greatly diminished. Perhaps Kane will regret signing with the team. This could affect his plans for the offseason as he signed a one-year deal with the team.
