NHL insider Pierre LeBrun stated that once Quinn Hughes was traded and off the market, attention suddenly shifted to Flames' Rasmus Andersson.

There are reports that Calgary Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson is garnering interest from contenders, thus creating rumors that he might be traded prior to the deadline.
With a cap hit of $4.55 million and a six-team no-trade list, at age 29 and in the final year of the deal, rumblings about Andersson have been happening since the end of last year's regular season.

What the Quinn Hughes trade did for Rasmus Andersson

TSN insider Pierre LeBrun indicated on Insider Trading that queries for Andersson increased after Quinn Hughes was traded to Minnesota, with teams honing in on the Flames defenseman.
"This is still gonna need some work but what I am hearing is that the Flames suddenly got more calls on Rasmus Andersson after the Quinn Hughes trade."

There has been interest from the Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights, with Andersson willing to potentially sign an extension with both teams.

Why Rasmus Andersson wasn't traded to the Kings in the summer

There was an offer from the Los Angeles Kings in the summer, but it fell through when Andersson did not accept a long-term contract. There has been some interest from the Toronto Maple Leafs, with them checking back in early this season.
It's not certain what Andersson is looking to get in the new contract or what the Flames are willing to offer or get in the trade. It is conditional, though, on whether the team that trades for him will offer an extension to the player.
With his experience and falling within the price range of a top four defender who fits the cap space, Andersson has quickly risen to be one of the most interesting names to keep an eye on from now until the deadline.
