Defenseman Tyler Poole of the Nottingham Lions was hit with a 31-game suspension after butt-ending an opponent in the face with his stick, and has since been released by the team.

A shocking incident has unfolded recently involving the Nottingham Lions 2 of the NIHL D2 in the UK, and the guilty player is paying a steep price for his actions.
Tyler Poole butt-ended an opponent with his stick, and was hit with a whopping 31-game suspension. And that's not the only price that he'll be paying, as he was also released from the team.
The Lions confirmed Poole's release, and have also released a statement regarding the decision, saying it goes against the ethics and standards that the club is supposed to represent.
Following the events during the 1st March fixture against the Billingham Buccaneers, Nottingham Lions can confirm that Tyler Poole has been released from the club with immediate effect. The behaviour displayed during this fixture fell significantly short of the standards expected of anyone representing our club. Our club ethos is built on developing players and promoting respect, discipline, and sportsmanship both on and off the ice. The conduct shown on this occasion is not aligned with those principles, nor is it behaviour we are prepared to tolerate within our environment. We have checked in with Stu Jackson from the Buccaneers following this incident. - Nottingham Lions

Tyler Poole No Longer Plays For The Nottingham Lions

Poole had spent the last few seasons playing with the Nottingham Lions, a tenure which is now officially at an end.
In the 16 games that he played this year, he had four assists. Last year, he has six points (2G, 4A) in 25 gamers played.
It's a tough consequence for Poole, but he'll have to look back on it and realize he should have shown more restraint.
