Now-ex Oilers forward Andrew Mangiapane is taking a dig at the Oilers organization after he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks at the trade deadline.

The tenure of forward Andrew Mangiapane with the Edmonton Oilers simply did not work out, and now he's a member of the Chicago Blackhawks after being traded by GM Stan Bowman at the trade deadline earlier this week.
Mangiapane was often a healthy scratch with the Oilers, leading to numerous questions about his long-term future with the team.
But now, he's gotten a fresh start with the Blackhawks, and he'll have a chance to be one of their regular forwards for next year as well. He also couldn't resist the urge to take a dig at Edmonton with how things turned out for him before the trade.
It was a little tough sledding there in Edmonton. I'm happy to get out and have a nice restart and be with a good organization here. -Andrew Mangiapane
With the Oilers, he had 14 points (7G, 7A) in 52 games played.
He still has a year left on his contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $3.6 million.

Andrew Mangiapane Is Now With His Fourth NHL Team

Mangiapane was taken with the 166th overall pick by the Calgary Flames in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft while playing with the OHL's Barrie Colts, and would spend the first several years of his professional career with the organization.
He was a member of the Flames team that most recently made the playoffs in 2022, which included the first postseason Battle of Alberta against the Oilers in several years.
Mangiapane was then traded to the Washington Capitals in 2024, and he spent a single year in a Capitals sweater and had 28 points (14G, 14A) in 81 games.
So far in his NHL career with the Flames, Capitals, Oilers and now Blackhawks, Mangiapane has 257 points (130G, 127A) in 551 career games.
