Ben Johnson was convicted of assault and spent time in jail, but he has just signed a one-year pro hockey contract with HK Dukla Michalovce in Slovakia.

Ben Johnson, 30 years old, was originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the third round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and the team signed him to an entry-level contract before his terrible actions had his contract ended and eventually led to him spending three long years in prison as punishment for his horrific acts.

The first incident was when he forced a 20-year-old woman to commit acts with him against her will. In the second case, he forced a 16-year-old girl to do the same, again in both cases without consent. The second woman was under the influence of alcohol at the time that he committed the crime.

Ben Johnson was convicted on two separate assault charges while with the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL. The two incidents mentioned above occurred within weeks of each other in the bathrooms of two different bars.

It will be interesting to see if Ben Johnson receives any backlash in Slovakia for these two crimes he committed, or whether he will fly under the radar.
