Worrying news for Kent Hughes: It concerns Sean Monahan

The Canadiens players were back at practice today and a lot of new information surfaced from the team's entourage.

We learned that Kirby Dach, Christian Dvorak and Evgeny Dadonov have all been given a day off for treatment.

But the most worrying news in the medium and long term for the CH concerns Sean Monahan.

"Once again, no Sean Monahan at the Canadiens' practice. He returned to non-contact practice two Saturdays ago. We haven't seen him on the ice since." - Eric Engels

"Sean Monahan is still not at CH practice today. This is starting to smell bad for the trade deadline, unfortunately!" - Marc-Olivier Beaudoin

"Sean Monahan is not on the ice for Canadiens practice. Again." - Arpon Basu

It must be said that Monahan's sudden absence is indeed starting to become worrisome.

However, for several days, we have not seen him on the ice with the other players of the club or alone. Obviously, there seems to be a problem that has arisen suddenly in his case.

Let's hope it's not too serious, because the Habs need him healthy. Hopefully he will be back with the team when he returns from the long break.

With the Habs looking to add assets for the rebuild, Monahan was a piece that could offer an interesting return at the trade deadline.

Losing his services for so long could potentially derail a great deal for the Habs, which is seriously bad news for Kent Hughes.

Let's just say that it's time for the organization to rectify the situation and offer a little more transparency on this situation that has been dragging on for a very long time now.

A file to follow.
