Nicolas Savoie, renowned for winning the Memorial Cup in 2023 with the Quebec Remparts, finds himself suspended by his team because of his commitment to academic aspirations.
This situation is rather uncommon. We rarely hear about players being suspended for wanting to return to school, even to terminate a contract.
"The @AmerksHockey have suspended defenseman Nicolas Savoie with the intention of terminating his American Hockey League contract at the request of Savoie to pursue educational opportunities."

A deal is reportedly already in place between Savoie and the University of New Brunswick. The defenseman, after sitting out on the rest of the current season, should play for the UNB Reds in 2024-25.
He played three games in the AHL this season, with the Americans, and 21 games in the ECHL.
"Hearing that the UNB Reds have a commitment in place to add defenceman Nicolas Savoie for next season.

He played 21 ECHL games this season, and had a *three* game callup for the AHL's Rochester Americans." Steiner said.

Do you think Savoie will be back in the AHL in 2025-26?
