In the last stretch of the first period, Bedard scored with a one-timer, and made a great celly after.

"Connor Bedard capitalizes on the brutal Boston turnover with a terrific one-timer tally!"

The NHL decided to overturn the goal. A video replay suggested the Hawks' zone entry was offside.

The offside, not initially called during the play, became the subject of debate as the Hawks had maintained their position in the Bruins' zone for a considerable time prior to the goal. Also, the Bruins got the possession of the puck before Bedard scored. Many argued that the minor offside error had no real influence on the goal.

Ryan Whitney, a former NHLer and now co-host of Spittin' Chiclets, vocally critisized the NHL's decision in a video shared on X.

"Bedard no goal is a disgrace"
