What an enigma Logan Mailloux is. Not only have we yet to hear from Gary Bettman and the league as to whether he'll make the cut, but expert opinion is very divided on his potential.

Scott Wheeler didn't even include Mailloux in his top 100, while David Reinbacher (20) and Lane Hutson (27) did.
For former CH scout Grant McCagg, Mailloux is nothing less than the organization's best prospect.
I've watched at least 50 of Mailloux's games. If Wheeler watched that much footage of every prospect he had to rank, he wouldn't sleep."

"In the playoffs against the Peterborough Petes, he was used over 23 minutes per game, on average. Dale Hunter would send him out on the ice for every shorthanded goal. I think he was the best defenseman in the OHL playoffs. [...] Right now, he's ahead of Reinbacher and [Lane] Hutson. He's the closest to the NHL." - Grant McCagg

Here's his top 5:
1- Logan Mailloux
2- David Reinbacher
3- Lane Hutson
4- Oliver Kapanen
5- Owen Beck
McCagg didn't stop there. A guest on Tony Marinaro's Sick Podcast, the former scout mentions that London Knights GM Mark Hunter told him that Mailloux is the best defenseman prospect he's seen since John Carlson.
When you consider that Adam Boqvist, Evan Bouchard, Ryan Merkley, Nikita Zadorov and Olli Maatta all came through London before Mailloux, that's pretty telling of his potential.
Francis Bouillon agrees. In his opinion, Mailloux is quite an athlete, and he's really knocking on the NHL's door.
