Pierre-Luc Dubois is now a member of the Los Angeles Kings for the next eight years. Many believe he came very close to moving to Montreal, but that would not be the case at all. That's according to Tony Marinaro, who believes Dubois used Montreal, like many others before him, to up the ante. No, I don't think Dubois had any intention of coming to play for the Montreal Canadiens. I think Pierre-Luc Dubois, like many Quebecers, used the Habs for his own gain. It raised the stakes. If Pierre-Luc Dubois really wanted to come and play for the Canadiens, he would have said he wasn't going to sign with any team other than the CH. He could do it right now! - Tony Marinaro It's a shame, but it's true that we've heard this a lot from NHL players. As far as Tony is concerned, the Habs aren't to blame here; it's Dubois who should be ashamed. What I don't like is that he tried to make Canadiens fans believe he wanted to come and play in Montreal. [...] It wasn't true! - Tony Marinaro Many Internet users agree with Tony on this point. Dubois might have earned a little less in salary, but he would have worn the right jersey, if that's what he really wanted. Now that he's signed elsewhere, his next visit to the Bell Centre should be more unpleasant than expected.
