Kent Hughes Establishing Himself Among The Best GM's in the NHL

Let's just say that the Habs GM has an excellent track record of improving his team over the long term and even in the fan's illustration, there are still some excellent moves missing from him and the entire team he has put in place in Montreal.

We could also add the Panthers first round pick in 2023, Justin Barron and a second round pick in 2024, Kirby Dach, Emil Heineman, Jeff Petry's contract unloading that brought in Michael Matheson, who did very well during the preliminaries, before getting hurt.

Basically, Kent Hughes made some big additions with little resources and his draft team seems to have done a colossal job in the last draft, with four players drafted in the first two rounds with an NHL job almost assured in Slafkovsky, Mesar, Beck and Hutson.

Let's not forget that Hughes will have an additional five first round selections in the next three drafts.
