For several weeks now, even several months, the name of forward Jesse Puljujarvi has been linked, on numerous occasions, by very good sources, to the Montreal Canadiens.

It is even known that Kent Hughes seriously tried to acquire him at the last draft, but the Edmonton Oilers' asking price was too high for their big winger.
Now at 24 years old, he has only eight points, including two goals in 36 games this season.
However, we have just learned of a major development in this matter. The Finn's extremely disappointing season has forced his team to lower the price for their former fourth overall pick in 2016.
In fact, according to the excellent David Pagnotta, the Oilers are now reportedly asking for a "third or fourth trio player" in exchange for Puljujarvi.
It must be said that this is exactly what the Habs seem to want to trade for Puljujarvi. So this is an important development in this matter, if Hughes is still interested in taking a chance on the right winger.
Let's just say that a lower price increases the chances of a trade between Montreal and Edmonton.
We can imagine that players like Joel Armia, Evgenii Dadonov and Mike Hoffman could be considered as third or fourth line players. It remains to be seen if contracts could be a problem for the Oilers.
To be continued.
