Elliotte Friedman Links Corey Perry to the Edmonton Oilers For Potential Signing

Corey Perry has quickly become a hot commodity since the NHL determined he could return to play this year in the League, should he choose to sign somewhere. However, the details of the incident that led to his termination in Chicago are still murky, and with that comes baggage. It begs the question of whether or not a team would take the chances on the veteran forward.

Now, Elliotte Friedman has revealed that the Edmonton Oilers may be the team that does so, linking Perry and the Oilers as a good fit.

The Oilers could potentially use Perry in the bottom six of their lineup, and he would give them the playoff experience that they need. Whether or not they want to take a chance on the veteran is a different story.

The Oilers aren't the first team to be linked to Perry, as the Toronto Maple Leafs were reported to have interest in the veteran almost immediately after he was determined eligible to play again this year.

Perry has until March 8th to sign a new contract in order to be eligible for the playoffs. We will certainly have our eye on whether or not someone takes a chance on him.
