Today David Perron took an opportunity to speak to the media regarding his recent suspension.
Perron Suspension Upheld By Bettman And The NHL
Earlier today the NHL announced that the league and Gary Bettman upheld David Perron's suspension. National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman today affirmed the six-game suspension that was assessed to Detroit Red Wings forward David Perron.

Perron was suspended for six games and served the entirety of that suspension while it was being reviewed by the league. After this announcement, Perron returned to the team allowing him to speak about the process.
Perron Speaks Up Regarding Absurdly Long Suspension
Today was David Perron's first opportunity to speak about the suspension he endured. He first decided to speak about the play where the infraction in question occurred. I'm just coming in there and trying to stick up for Dylan, Perron said. You see him, kind of on my second look there, you see him motionless, not moving at all there. Definitely not easy for me to go through that, to turn around and see our captain down on the ice. Perron had the best of intentions when he joined the scrum that led to him injuring an opposing player. He understands the need for a suspension due to his actions but disagrees with the length. You're trying to respond to these types of incidents, Perron said. Obviously, I got the guy a little high. I understand that there was some discipline that needed to be done there. It just felt like on my side, it was pretty excessive for the comparables, the history, my career a lot of things really. Perron does not have a history of dirty play or suspensions. A six-game suspension for a player with his history does feel excessive. Regardless he will be back the next time the Detroit Red Wings take the ice again. As Read On - Hockey Feed - David Perron breaks silence after his «excessive» suspension Perron is back after sitting for six games.
