Detroit Red Wings defenseman Mark Pysyk suffered an Achilles heel injury during his rehab, according to a report by insider Frank Seravalli.

Pysyk underwent surgery on that same heel last July. He didn't have time to return to the game before he injured the same spot.
This is a real slap in the face for the player, who has been working hard since July to get back into the game, but obviously can't. At 30 years old, Pysyk will be an unrestricted free agent after this season and his future is seriously compromised.
In 521 games in the NHL, the defenseman has accumulated 104 points, including 28 goals.
