According to insider David Pagnotta, the Canucks and Patrik Allvin have not yet reached out to Sherwood regarding extension talks.
This report from Pagnotta goes against a recent Sportsnet report that had indicated talks were underway.
It seems that potentially Sherwood and his camp caught wind of the rumors about talks beginning and wanted to make it clear that Allvin has not reached out.
As for the reasons why Allvin has not reached out to Sherwood it remains unclear as he is clearly a bright part of this team's future and currently carrying a major offensive load.
It could be due to some of the recent contracts signed by top wingers around the league driving up the price for Sherwood in a major way.
The Canucks have reportedly already been hesitant to discuss contracts that could near or exceed 5 million dollars for Sherwood who will be entering his 30s as the contract begins.
