22 NHL Players Hit Waivers - Major Moves Before Opening Night

22 players have been placed on waivers this afternoon across the NHL, with four of those coming from the Canucks and two being placed by the Jets.
22 players were placed on the NHL's waiver wire on Monday, September 29th, with seven different teams making transactions between their NHL and AHL teams that required waivers.
Four of those players are coming from the Canucks, and two are being placed on waivers by the Jets.
For Vancouver, Joseph Labate, Mackenzie MacEachern, Jiri Patera, and Jimmy Schuldt were waived, whereas the ones put by Winnipeg are Phillip Di Giuseppe and Mason Shaw.
All 22 players are now available to be claimed by all of the other 31 teams in the league.
The order in which teams have priority for claiming players on waivers is based on the inverse order of the 2024-25 NHL standings until November 1st, at which point the order will be based on the inverse order of the 2025-26 standings.
High Chances That None of the Players Waived Today Will Be Claimed
It is unlikely that we will see any of the players waived today claimed by another team, as many teams are trying to cut their rosters down to be NHL-compliant before the regular season.
That being said, there are exceptions, and it could very well be that one of the names on today's list will be among those claimed.
In other news, all 23 players that were placed on waivers yesterday have cleared to their respective AHL and junior clubs. Tune in at this time tomorrow to find out which of today's players got claimed, if any.
