Connor Hellebuyck Leaves Jets Skate Early - Here's What We Know So Far
Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck was seen leaving the team's skate early today, and NHL insider Murat Ates said it could be either an injury or an equipment issue.
On Saturday night, the Winnipeg Jets finally picked up their first win of the preseason, taking down the Calgary Flames 4-2 at Canada Life Centre in Manitoba.
Heading into the matchup, there were questions about who would start in net, but Jets head coach Scott Arniel cleared that up before puck drop, confirming that Eric Comrie would play the full game against Calgary.
Connor Hellebuyck was Scheduled to Start the Final 2 Preseason Games
Hellebuyck, meanwhile, was set to start the final two games of the preseason, Sept. 30 in Minnesota and Oct. 3 in Calgary, but that might now be in jeopardy.
NHL insider Murat Ates reported that Hellebuyck just left his team's morning skate early, and it could be that he is either dealing with a minor injury or an equipment issue.
"Could be anything from an equipment issue to a minor injury. Will follow up."

It was a bit surprising to see Hellebuyck scheduled for back-to-back preseason games rather than being spaced out, despite the fact that he likes playing a lot, but based on the current situation, that could be up in the air.
Fans and coaches are eagerly awaiting any sort of update, and one can only hope that it is, in fact, just an equipment issue.
If all goes well, fans will get a good look at Hellebuyck on Tuesday night when the Jets face the Wild in Minnesota. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. CDT.
