Winnipeg Free Press' Ken Wiebe has reported that Clague's contract will pay him $775,000 in the NHL and $475,000 when he plays in the AHL.

The Regina, Sask., native had previously spent time in the NHL with Los Angeles, Montreal, and most recently the Buffalo Sabres. He last time he played an NHL game was with the Sabres in 2023-24, skating in three games and recording just one assist.
Clague has 94 games of experience at hockey's highest level under his belt, and has scored two goals and 19 assists for 21 points.
