The Jets are going to be scratching Logan Stanley for tonight's game, and he will be replaced by newcomer Luke Schenn, who will make his Winnipeg debut. Defenseman Luke Schenn is receiving a hometown reunion in Winnipeg. The 35-year-old hit the ice at Canada Life Centre on Monday and Tuesday mornings wearing No. 5, his former junior hockey number from his time with the Kelowna Rockets. Schenn was acquired by Winnipeg at last Friday's NHL trade deadline in a transaction that sent two draft picks to Pittsburgh. It has been a whirlwind of a week, a crazy journey in my career and this is another unexpected chapter, Schenn said. Every time I think I have got things figured out, a little stability, or where I think I can predict the future a little bit, that is when things go a little sideways. It been a whirlwind of a week, traded twice within a day and a half, the whole thing has been a little overwhelming, I would say.

He has primarily worn No. 2 since joining the NHL in 2008, with the exceptions of Philadelphia (22) and Los Angeles (52). The Saskatoon product has suited up for nine teams in his career, including repeat visits to two clubs.
Schenn won two Stanley Cups with Tampa Bay
Winnipeg represents his 12th NHL destination. He wore No. 2 for Toronto, Arizona, Anaheim, Vancouver, Nashville, and Tampa Bay, where he captured two Stanley Cups, prior to a short stint in Pittsburgh. On the international stage, he has worn numbers 2, 5, and 15 while playing for Canada at the World Juniors and World Championships. Schenn will be joined by defenseman Haydn Fleury, who will return to the lineup after appearing only twice since his late-January injury. Their insertion will see Logan Stanley and Colin Miller scratched.

Stanley, for the first time this season, will be in the press box with Miller and Ville Heinola. Schenn will make his Jets debut Tuesday night against the New York Rangers. Meanwhile, trade deadline acquisition Brandon Tanev will play his first home game in Winnipeg since rejoining the club. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM CT.
