This evening a new report has confirmed that now former Winnipeg Jets goaltender Chris Driedger has left the team.

The Winnipeg Jets season came to crushing end after a series loss to the Dallas Stars.
With the team's season over offseason activities have begun and that includes the departure of players on expiring contracts.
One such player is Chris Driedger who the Jets acquired from the Florida Panthers in a trade deadline deal.
After being acquired by the Jets, Winnipeg native Driedger reported to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL where he remained for the rest of the season.
During his time with the Moose, Driedger appeared in five games and had a 3.30 goals against average and a 0.872 save percentage.
Now according to multiple reports, Driedger will be ending his time playing in North America and signing overseas.

Winnipeg Jets Goaltender Signs Overseas

Several reports have indicated that despite having potential NHL organizations interested Driedger has decided to sign in the KHL with Traktor Chelyabinsk.
At 31 years old, the path still exists for Driedger to come back and play in North America but it is more likely he spends the rest of his professional career playing in Europe.
If this is indeed it for Driedger in his NHL career, he will finish his career with 67 games played with another 217 played in the AHL over the last decade.
On the Winnipeg Jets side of things they will now have to add another goaltender to the organization to fill Driedger's backup role in the AHL for the 2025-26 season.
