Fans of the Winnipeg Jets are once again angry with Gary Bettman after another ridiculous schedule change made their team harder to watch. Teams in the central time zone have historically gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to the schedule, especially during the playoffs. Most games on the coasts start at 7PM local time while many games in the central time zone start a whole hour later if not more. This trend has occurred again this year for teams including the Winnipeg Jets. Luckily, that has not impacted the team's ability to perform on the ice as they currently hold a 2-1 series advantage over the St. Louis Blues. However, the rest of the series could prove to be just a touch more difficult for the Jets as they were without <a href='https://www.hockeylatest.com/nhl-team/winnipeg-jets/winnipeg-jets-defenseman-unexpectedly-ruled-out-moments-before-puck-drop-of-game-3' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>veteran defenseman Dylan DeMelo in game three. </a> Perhaps it is no coincidence that the team struggled in their own zone without the stalwart blueliner. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/juliangaudio89/status/1915791079778959783'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> That being said, it appears as though the Jets will continue to deal with late starts for the rest of the series as the start time for game five has been announced as 8:30PM CT. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/WPGMurat/status/1916153398182760908'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> Of course, this is the official stat time, but as we all know the real puck drop time is always well after the listed time for NHL games, so puck drop likely won't be until nearly 9PM. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/jetsgobangbang/status/1916185063709937895'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> Understandably, Jets fans are frustrated and annoyed as this scheduling trend continues. Some pointed out that the late start times are likely going to hurt TV ratings as well, which may very well be true. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/Ottobear123/status/1916162184616222784'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> Others simply pointed out that the schedule makes no sense with over 8 hours between puck drops on that particular day. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/daniCee29/status/1916181059743715837'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> Hopefully this will change when someone else takes over as league commissioner but until that day comes, expect fans to continue to be upset for the NHL's wonky schedule.
