The game between the Manitoba Moose and Laval Rocket, the AHL affiliates of the Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens, was suddenly cancelled in the third period after a medical emergency involving a fan.
There was scary news tonight during a game between the Manitoba Moose and Laval Rocket, the American Hockey League affiliates of the Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens.
There was a medical emergency in the crowd involving a fan, and with 1:21 left in the game and the Moose leading 3-0, the decision was made to cancel the rest of the game.
The crowd in attendance at the venue was asked to begin exiting so that the fan could receive the proper medical treatment.
The Moose released the following statement:
Due to a medical emergency involving a spectator, the decision was made to end tonight's game in Laval with 1:21 remaining in the third period and Manitoba leading 3-0. Our thoughts are with the fan affected along with their family and loved ones. - Manitoba Moose
Brad Lambert, Nikita Chibrikov and Mason Shaw all scored for the Moose, who would be credited with the win.
The Laval Rocket Also Released A Statement Wishing The Fan Well
The Rocket released a statement of their own wishing the fan well:
The Laval rocket wishes to express its support for the individual involved in a medical incident during today's game. Our thoughts are with the individual's family. - Laval Rocket
There has been no official update given on the spectator's condition or the exact nature of the medical emergency.
