Josh Morrissey has been unlucky with injury as of late, and after their season ending loss on Saturday, Scott Arniel has given an unfortunate update on him. The Winnipeg Jets suffered an emotional, heartbreaking loss on Saturday night against the Dallas Stars, eliminating them from the Stanley Cup Playoffs after what was such an incredibly promising campaign as the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. While it's not an excuse for the loss, the team lost Josh Morrissey throughout the game, something that may have come back to haunt them as the game went on to overtime.
Winnipeg Jets Head Coach Confirms Josh Morrissey's Injury Is Severe
After the game, Head Coach Scott Arniel had a quick update on the situation.

Loading from Twitter ...

According to Arniel, it's 'not good', which could indicate that Morrissey may miss a significant chunk of the off-season that he would usually use to prepare for the upcoming season, which isn't a good sign at all for the Jets or their star defenseman.

Loading from Twitter ...

In what was a tough scene to watch, Morrissey got his leg incidentally caught under Stars forward Mikko Rantanen as he fell to the ice, twisting it incredibly awkwardly as he had to depart the game immediately. We'll likely know more about the situation with Morrissey in a few days after he undergoes some testing, but looking at the injury at first glance, it certainly wasn't one that appeared to be a simple, short-term thing. Ultimately though, the Jets now don't have another game to play until next season, so they can afford to be a little patient with Morrissey regarding this injury and getting back to full health, but it's still something that nobody wants to see, with the star defenseman hopefully at 100% before the 2025/26 campaign begins for the Jets.
