Scott Arniel Furious, Comments on Controversial Call in Embarrassing Loss to the Sabres

Earlier Scott Arniel turned heads by bashing the referees in a loss to the Carolina Hurricanes where Vlad Namestnikov got hurt.

Tonight as the Jets took on the Sabres the referees are once again on the hot seat for a controversial call.

Early in the game, the Buffalo Sabres took a 1-0 lead on a goal from young forward JJ Peterka.

On the play, there seemed to be clear interference from a Buffalo Sabres player that led Peterka to be open in the slot for a prime scoring opportunity.

After the game Jets head coach Scott Arniel was asked about the no-call from the referees and did not hold back his frustration.

During his post-game press conference, one of the most interesting topics was the potential missed call by the referees.

In his response, Arniel revealed he believes the play was a clear illegal pick from the Sabres and absolutely should've been called but then admitted the Jets still should have been able to push past the bad call.

After sharing his frustration with the referees Arniel continued and discussed the defensive breakdown beyond the bad call that led to the goal for Peterka.

The Jets would go on to lose to the Sabres 5-3 resulting in the most embarrassing loss of the season for the Winnipeg Jets.

Regardless the Winnipeg Jets remain in a fantastic spot heading into the Stanley Cup Playoffs while the Buffalo Sabres have their sights set on the NHL Draft.

It is good to see coach Arniel defend his players and call out when others do not do their job it will be interesting to see if his criticism of the referees continues into the playoffs.
