Vancouver Canucks Share Positive News Regarding The Return Of An Injured Star Player

The Canucks have had one of the most eventful seasons in the league this year.

The team has been constantly mired in turmoil and rumors. In fact, at one point it was reported that Thatcher Demko wanted off the team.

Things have gone even worse for the veteran netminder due to his consistent health problems.

He has been battling a reoccurring injury which flared up most recently last month, forcing the Canucks to put him on injured reserve.

Demko has appeared in just 17 games this year and has not been his usual self, posting a 6-6-3 record, a 2.87 goals-against-average, and an .891 save percentage.

He last appeared in a game on February 8th, a 2-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

However, Demko played just 10 minutes in that game, stopping six shots before exiting with a lower-body injury.

Six weeks later, it now appears as though he may be close to returning though.

According to Canucks reporter Lain MacIntyre, the goaltender was a full participant in team practice this morning, the first time that has been the case for him since before the injury.

Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet also spoke about his status briefly after practice, noting that he's, "starting to feel pretty good."

Tocchet also revealed that Elias Pettersson and Nils Hoglander are both out day-to-day as neither participated in practice.
