It appears Kyle Connor is going to be a proud new father, as he stepped away from practice for that reason, while Luke Schenn left for Nashville to be with family.

Kyle Connor didn't show up to practice on Thursday as he took a break from the team to spend time with his family, according to TSN's John Lu.
Connor recently became a father and left to be with his wife when she gave birth to their baby.
With this big life milestone, his availability for Friday night's game against the New Jersey Devils remains questionable. The squad has not yet issued an official statement on whether he will be back in time to play.
Without Connor, the Jets would be forced to juggle their top line, potentially having to use Nikolaj Ehlers or Mason Appleton to take his place.

The Jets will miss Connor's 37 goals if he misses any action

The 28-year-old right-winger has been a key offensive producer this season, only three goals away from joining the 40-goal club for the second time in his fine nine-year NHL career.
At the same time, another player who also left the team was defenseman Luke Schenn, leaving for Nashville for the two-day break to be with his family, as per Mitchell Clinton. No further details about how long he would be gone were revealed.
The rest of the absent players who missed practice were off due to maintenance purposes, in order to make sure they are in their top shape for the stretch drive, as the Jets look to push for the President's Trophy.
