Tonight, Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel gave an update on the impending return of captain Adam Lowry from injury. The Winnipeg Jets have been without their captain Adam Lowry after he had offseason surgery to repair a hip injury suffered during the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Lowry is just one of the many key players who has been out due to injury this season including Cole Perfetti and Dylan Samberg. After Lowry's surgery was completed in May, an initial timeline of late October or early November was given for Lowry's return to game action. In recent days, Lowry returned to the ice but in a no contact jersey.

Loading from Twitter ...

Now, with that timeline looming head coach Scott Arniel spoke to the media and discussed where Lowry is at in his progression toward a return to game action.
Scott Arniel Provides an Update on When He Expects Adam Lowry To Return
During a recent press conference, Arniel was asked about the return of Lowry and if he is close to being in the lineup. Immediately, Arniel subverted expectations admitting that at the moment he is still in the process of working back and until he can take contact he isn't even a consideration to play. It's great to see him but until that jersey changes I'm not thinking too much about him. He's just getting to the point of, now he's able to get in with our guys. There's still a timeline. With that said, Lowry is doing new things each day which recently included taking faceoffs and it seems that despite not giving a timeline Arniel is confident in the progress made. Now he needs live contact. He needs to get into those situations. I think you saw him yesterday taking faceoffs, which he hasn't really done - which is a little bit different. Last year, when he was hurt, the last couple of years really affected his hip. That was one area - battles off draws - so it's nice to see him do that. He felt pretty good about it. Hopefully, within the next week or so, Lowry can shed the non-contact jersey and get back into a Jets lineup desperate for help after several key players have gone down with injuries. As more information is given on Lowry's return we will pass along the latest details to you.
