NHL insider Chris Johnston revealed that the Jets are currently not shopping for a goalie and are content to roll with Eric Comrie and Thomas Milic. Jets star goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is likely to spend several more weeks out due to injury. During his current absence, the team has only won once in four encounters, dropping to the sixth position in the Central Division.
What the Jets plan to do with their crease going forward
Despite the tough stretch, it looks like the squad isn't looking to bring in any help from outside the organization. During the latest edition of Insider Trading, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reported that the Jets aren't looking to acquire a goaltender, opting to go with backup Eric Comrie and prospect Thomas Milic until their two-time Vezina Trophy-winning goaltender gets back.

Loading from Twitter ...

Comrie, who will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2025-26 season, was very good in stopping the puck with a 2.39 GAA and a save percentage of .914.
Why Eric Comrie and Thomas Milic are capable of getting the job done
Although he has struggled in the current season with a 3.02 GAA and a save percentage of .897 in the first eight games, the experience of playing in Winnipeg makes him an important cog in keeping the team afloat. Currently in his third professional season, split between AHL Manitoba and ECHL Norfolk, Milic has appeared in 90 contests in the last two seasons. In nine appearances with the Manitoba Moose to begin the current campaign, Milic was posting a 2.14 GAA and .921 save percentage. With the Jets opening a back-to-back series on the road on Friday, this likely means an NHL debut soon for Milic. That performance might help fortify the Jets and give General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff all the more reason to maintain patience in Hellebuyck's return.
