The Jets got some welcome news today during their morning skate, as defenseman Dylan Samberg took part in a regular contact jersey, much to everyone's delight.

Jets Radio analyst Mitchell Clinton revealed that injured defenceman Dylan Samberg has traded in his yellow, non-contact jersey for a regular uniform today at the morning skate.

What caused Dylan Samberg's absence

The Jets have been without Samberg's services since late September after he broke his wrist in a preseason game, which head coach Scott Arniel labelled as a "freak accident".
He was expected to miss 6-8 weeks, so it appears that he may be treading slightly ahead of schedule.
We recently saw Cole Perfetti ditch the non-contact jersey, and then two days later, he was in the lineup, so one can only wonder whether this means Samberg's return is imminent.

Why Dylan Samberg likely won't play tonight

Samberg was not on the ice with a partner that is expected to play tonight, so it would appear that he could be making his regular-season debut on Thursday in Seattle, as long as he feels good after today's skate.
The Jets will take on the Canucks tonight at 10 PM PT, and both teams' projected lineups can be seen below.
