After a dramatic Game 7 win by the Jets over the Blues, goaltender Connor Hellebuyck released an official statement on everything he went through.

Winnipeg goalie Connor Hellebuyck let out a sigh of relief after leading his side to their dramatic Game 7 victory against the St. Louis Blues on Sunday.
"I definitely felt a little something there," Hellebuyck said, according to Winnipeg News' Mike McIntyre. "At this point, the pressure has kind of fallen off. The weight of the world is off my shoulders."
It was a very fiery first round for Hellebuyck, who was pulled three times and had an .830 save percentage.
Despite the early troubles, the Vezina Trophy nominee stepped up in the big moments to close the door on all nine shots in overtime to keep the Jets alive and push the series to the second round.
"Getting into that OT, it was, 'I'm not going to let these guys down,'" Hellebuyck said. "They pulled through, and the rest is history."

He added: "Seeing how many people believe in me and care about me in this room was a really good feeling. Talk about growth moments."

Hellebuyck has had to deal with playoff demons for many years

Playoff troubles are not unfamiliar to Hellebuyck. He yielded 24 goals in five first-round losses to the Colorado Avalanche in 2023 and 18 goals in a five-game series loss to the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023.
"It's one of those things that had been building all those years, and I think it's just because I want it so bad," Hellebuyck said.
Now the Jets and Hellebuyck are back in the second round for the first time since 2021, aiming for the Western Conference final for the first time since 2018.
"We're in some new territory that we haven't been in in a little while," Hellebuyck said. "I'm really excited. It's a restart for me. Who cares about what just happened? We got through it, and moving forward here, I'm really excited to put my best foot forward and do my job."

They'll start the next chapter on Wednesday at their home arena of Canada Life Centre, against the Dallas Stars in Game 1.
