Connor Hellebuyck is 11 wins away from breaking the NHL's all-time record for most wins by a goaltender in a season, and he's got 16 games left to do it.

With 16 games left on the schedule, Winnipeg Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck is just 10 wins away from etching his name in the NHL record book, and 11 to break it.
While he doesn't often let pucks behind him, he admits the record of 48 wins in a season by a goaltender is on his radar.
"I'd be lying if I said it didn't," Hellebuyck said on Thursday. "It's not like I'm focused on it, but I definitely see it. It would be cool to achieve that."

Heading into Friday's matchup against Dallas, Hellebuyck is 38-9-3, eight wins ahead of second-place goaltenders Jake Oettinger (Dallas) and Andrei Vasilevskiy (Tampa Bay).
The record, held by Martin Brodeur (2006-07) and Braden Holtby (2015-16), was set under differing workloads, as Brodeur played in 78 games, and Holtby 66.

Hellebuyck is on pace to finish with 47 wins, ever so close to the record

Hellebuyck has played 50 of Winnipeg's 66 games. If his usage stays steady, he'll finish with 62 starts. At his present pace, he'd finish at 47 wins, only one win shy of tying the record. But with playoffs looming, the Jets likely won't increase his workload.
Hellebuyck has given up just one goal in five of his past seven starts and is tops in the NHL in goals-against average (1.99) and save percentage (.927). He's the favorite for consecutive Vezina Trophies.
His career high? Forty-four wins in 64 starts in the 2017-18 season. He'll pursue win No. 39 on Friday against second-place Dallas in a big divisional game.
The toughest tests, however, are yet to come. Hellebuyck has not performed well in recent playoffs, with a 2-8 record the last two seasons.
The acquisition of shot-blocking defenseman Luke Schenn last week, he says, is another piece of the puzzle to help him get closer to the record.
