Winnipeg Jets captain Adam Lowry recently returned and played his first game after recovering from hip surgery, and he recapped how he felt on the ice.

Winnipeg Jets captain Adam Lowry has only played in a single game so far this year after recovering from summer hip surgery.
His first game back didn't go the way he wanted, as he and the Jets were beaten 3-0 by the Los Angeles Kings as part of an ongoing road trip.
He said later on that he wasn't happy about how he played, but was optimistic about fixing the mistakes as part of the loss.
Yeah, I mean, I didn't love my game. I was happy that I got through the game, and the hip felt good, obviously, I talked about the reads and things like that. First shift, I try and jump and get a hit on (Adrian) Kempe and leave (Anze) Kopitar all alone in front of our net and assist on (Drew) Doughty goal to end the game.

So, I mean, it was one of those ones where going into the game, obviously I didn't expect to feel my best or be as sharp as I'd like to be. But I felt like as the game progressed, I started to handle the puck a little more.

My reads started to get better. And, felt like I was starting to get my legs under me. So a good practice today, reviewing some clips and some things I didn't like in my game that I think are easy fixes.

Last year, Lowry had 34 points (16G, 18A) in 73 games as the Jets won the President's Trophy as the NHL's best regular season team, but they were beaten in the WCSF by the divisional foe Dallas Stars.

The Jets And Adam Lowry Are Reportedly Close On An Extension

Per NHL analyst Darren Dreger, the Jets and Lowry are reportedly close to a contract extension.
Yeah, it's such a great boost for the Winnipeg Jets and the city of Winnipeg to get their captain, Adam Lowry, back in the mix. It's also been a priority for a long, long time by the organization to get Lowry locked up longer term.

Lowry was taken in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft when the organization was still known as the Atlanta Thrashers, and has played his entire career in a Jets sweater.
