The Washington Capitals' enforcer Tom Wilson went after Adam Fox out of sheer frustration after a Rangers' goal in game 4.

On Monday night, in Washington, the Rangers became the first team in the League to earn their ticket for the second round by beating the Capitals 4-2 in game 4.

It's the enforcer's role to disturb his opponents when his team struggles, and unfortunately for the Caps, Wilson's efforts weren't enough to motivate his troops.

After the Rangers scored a goal, Wilson jumped on Adam Fox near the Capitals' net for no apparent reasons.

Wilson faced a lot of backlash for this incident. In an intermission report, Steve Valiquette, a former NHLer, went as far as calling him "stupid".

Listen to his full intervention here:

"He's an idiot but you like that have those guys on your team."

The Caps' enforcer was visibly frustrated. He played well in the series, but the rest of his team struggled to follow his pace.

In game three, he even tried to go after Matt Rempe, but the Rangers' rookie didn't want to drop the gloves against him, probably making him even more angry coming into game 4.

If you missed it, here's a video of what happened:

Wilson will have time to calm down as the Capitals' playoff run is over. It'll be interesting to see if he keeps that fire lit for the next season.
