Vancouver Canucks place defenseman on waivers
The Canucks have placed 25-year-old defenseman Jett Woo on NHL waivers today, as the team continues to push through what's been a difficult season thus far.
The Vancouver Canucks continue searching for solutions in what has been a difficult 2025-26 season, and management took another step on Tuesday as Patrik Allvin made a notable roster move.
The club placed 25-year-old defenseman Jett Woo on waivers, a decision first reported by Elliotte Friedman.

What Jet Woo has had to endure so far in the 2025-26 NHL season
Woo has endured a long road back after undergoing offseason surgery for an upper-body injury. The Canucks placed him on non-roster injured reserve in early October, and the expectation at the time was that his recovery would stretch month to month. He has yet to play a single game this season at either the NHL or AHL level.
Last year, Woo produced two goals and 18 points over 67 games with AHL Abbotsford and continued to build on the defensive structure that made him a WHL East Second All-Star Team selection back in 2019.
Why Vancouver hopes Jett Woo clears and gets to play in some AHL games
The question now is what Vancouver has planned once he becomes fully healthy. If Woo clears waivers, the Canucks will have the option of sending him back to Abbotsford to regain his rhythm after months away from game action.
However, given the organization's struggles and lack of defensive depth, he could just as easily remain with the big club as a depth option once he is ready to return.
