In a new interview, Vancouver Canucks star Quinn Hughes has responded to his brother Jack's controversial comments about playing together.

Yesterday, Jack Hughes spoke to the media and stirred up controversy by confirming he plans to play with his brothers some day.
The quote from Jack continued to add fuel to the fire for a potential Quinn Hughes to New Jersey trade.
All summer long, Quinn has been surrounded by trade rumors after Canucks President of Hockey Ops Jim Rutherford announced to the world that the brothers have a plan to play together.
With Quinn's contract coming to an end soon he is the most likely to leave and today he addressed all of the comments made by his brother and Rutherford while giving some thoughts of his own.

Quinn Hughes Reponds To His Brother Jack's Comments On Playing Together

During the interview at the NHL's Media Summit, Quinn spoke candidly about Jack's comments.
He first came to the defense of his brother who has been receiving a lot of backlash on social media for his quote.
I mean, he's my brother. What's he supposed to say, first of all? `Like, I don't want to play with him, you know?' ... I mean, we have contracts and whatnot. He's on a different team. Would it be fun to play with those guys at some point? Of course. I think if you guys have brothers, you guys would say the same thing.
After defending his brother and admitting that playing together is in fact a dream some day Quinn doubled down on his commitment to Vancouver and the Canucks for this season.
But we do have contracts. I'm excited to be in Vancouver, and I feel like last year was a little bit of failure. So I feel like I got things to do there. And I know Jack loves, he loves Jersey, and he's got stuff to do also.
The concern still remains that Quinn and his brothers will join forces after his current contract is over but for now all focus is on once again making the Stanley Cup Playoffs in Vancouver.
As of now, it seems the most likely scenario for Jack, Quinn, and Luke to play together is with a completely separate team outside of New Jersey or Vancouver.
But, for now, Quinn remains a Canuck and the front office and the team have the power to convince him Vancouver is the best place for him both now and going forward.
