In a new press conference, New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes directly addressed the possibility of his brother Quinn Hughes joining him in a trade by the Vancouver Canucks. Earlier this summer, Vancouver Canucks President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford made an alarming statement about Quinn Hughes' desire to leave and join his brothers in New Jersey. Since then, reports and speculation have reached an all-time high regarding Quinn's future in Vancouver and if a trade is actually possible. Recently, Quinn spoke to the media and made it clear that his focus was on the Canucks and making the Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, a new statement by Jack Hughes has once again stoked the flames around the conversation with Jack openly calling for the team to trade for Quinn.
Jack Hughes Openly Calls For The Devils To Trade For Quinn Hughes
Ahead of training camp, Jack spoke at the NHL's Player Media Tour and was asked about the rumors going around regarding his brother's future. In his response, Jack Hughes confirmed he is hoping to one day play with both of his brothers on the same team in the NHL. Honestly, I'm not afraid to say it. Yeah, I would love for Quinn to -- eventually I'd love to play with him. And whether that's in New Jersey or at what time that takes, at some point I want to play with Quinn. But yeah, that's the question going around. They talk all day about it up in Vancouver, you know? But yeah I'd love to play with Quinn at some point.

Loading from Twitter ...

Loading from Twitter ...

While Jack does cover himself by not directly referencing joining forces immediately it does once again put pressure on the Canucks to win now. If the team fails to turn things around there is absolutely a scenario where Quinn requests a trade and will only accept New Jersey as the destination or walk in free agency entirely. It is now up to Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford to put together a roster that convinces Quinn to delay playing with his brothers for a chance at a Stanley Cup in Vancouver.
