Canucks GM Patrik Allvin was flat-out asked whether the Canucks have a culture problem, to which he responded by saying he does not believe so.

The Vancouver Canucks are still trying to make sense of the blockbuster trade that saw franchise defenseman Quinn Hughes shipped off to the Minnesota Wild.
The trade, which broke on Friday evening, has sent shockwaves throughout the entire Vancouver community, leaving a generation of Canucks followers still trying to come to terms with the departure of a franchise defenseman who embodied what the organization is all about.

What GM Patrik Allvin did shortly after the trade

Amid the rising criticism, Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin has come out to address the issues following the trade hours after it became official.
In a Sportsnet appearance, Patrik Allvin said that the team has invested a lot of time in keeping Hughes within the Canucks before making a decision on the trade.
"This is probably something you go back a year ago when this started to come to our attention that this might be the path Quinn wants to go," Allvin explained.

"The ownership was trying to do everything and we were trying to do everything to convince him to stay When we were not able to do it, we started the process of looking for potential destinations."

Why recent speculation following the trade was swirling

Speculation quickly ensued regarding whether cultural problems within the organization might have been a factor in the departure of Hughes.
Allvin quickly dismissed the implication that a lack of a positive locker room environment might have been a reason for parting with the top defenseman.
"I don't believe so. I don't think that's the reason," Allvin said, adding that he remains confident in the current leadership group. He pointed to the work being done by head coach Adam Foote and the progress the organization has made under his system.

"We're very excited with the leadership group. And what Adam is building here. The players we got in through the draft over the last couple of years, and how they integrated with our team here."

The Canucks find themselves at the bottom of the league with a total of 25 points from 31 games played. Now that Quinn Hughes is no longer in the lineup, the Canucks are trying to turn things around as they enter the second part of the season.
