A new report this evening has confirmed that the Vancouver Canucks are heavily considering moving on from General Manager Patrik Allvin.
Coming into the 2025-26 season, the Vancouver Canucks were not expected to be a good team but still one that could flirt with a potential playoff spot.
Despite the high expectations, the season was an absolute disaster beginning with injuries that held the team back.
Ultimately, the Canucks decided to trade captain Quinn Hughes becoming the second core player traded after JT Miller within one year.
Since the Hughes trade, the Canucks have been on a downward spiral and currently sit 32nd in the NHL by a wide margin.
Despite the failure of a season, there had not been much talk of changes up top in Vancouver until today.
New report suggests Canucks GM Patrik Allvin is on the hot seat
According to a report from insider David Pagnotta, the Vancouver Canucks seem to be heavily considering moving on from Patrik Allvin.
There have been some conversations, or whispers...in the last few weeks that Vancouver has seriously been considering a change at the GM post. - David Pagnotta
This rumored change is one that fans have been calling for over the last year with many blaming Allvin and President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford for the mess the team is in.
With the Canucks likely heading into a full rebuild, hiring a new front office to lead that process makes the most sense.
If the Canucks do not fire Allvin and Rutherford they could lock themselves in for many more years of suffering before a turn around.
As more information is provided on Allvin and Rutherford’s futures in Vancouver, we will pass the latest news along to you.
