NHL insider Bruce Garrioch has revealed that the Canucks have taken calls on Kiefer Sherwood from six interested teams and that talks are picking up.
The trade market around Vancouver Canucks winger Kiefer Sherwood is beginning to take shape and is expected to intensify as the deadline approaches.
Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen reports that the Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers, and Tampa Bay Lightning have all explored Sherwood's availability.

What is making Kiefer Sherwood appealing to so many teams
Sherwood's profile makes him increasingly appealing to a wide range of contenders.
The middle-six winger has produced 32 goals and 57 points in 111 games with Vancouver, averaging 15:41 of ice time while delivering a heavy physical presence with 608 hits.
His combination of offense, forechecking, and postseason-style play suggests his market could expand to as many as 15 to 20 teams.
Cost is another major factor driving interest. Sherwood's $1.5 million cap hit is manageable for cap-tight clubs such as the Bruins, Lightning, Senators, and Stars, giving teams flexibility to add depth without sacrificing future moves.
The two other players also drawing trade interest
Sherwood is not the only winger drawing attention. On NHL Coast to Coast, Frank Seravalli noted that Seattle Kraken forward Mason Marchment is also generating trade traction and could move before the holiday roster freeze.
Marchment carries a higher $4.5 million cap hit and has struggled this season with four goals and 13 points in 29 games, but his prior production with the Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars still holds appeal.
Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Kings continue to explore ways to address scoring issues. David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reports the Kings have discussed using Phillip Danault in trade talks, though the fit remains questionable.
Danault's age and limited production could make a trade harder to accomplish.
