NHL analyst reveals the astounding asking price for Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood

The Vancouver Canucks have already made a monumental move, as they traded captain and former Norris Trophy-winning defenseman Quinn Hughes to the Minnesota Wild and not only got a first-round pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft in return, but they also got Marco Rossi, Liam Ohgren, and Zeev Buium.

And even though they are now 3-0 in the post-Hughes era with their 3-0 win over the New York Islanders, their second straight shutout win, there are still multiple Canucks players who are included in trade rumours.

One of them is Kiefer Sherwood, and according to Canucks analyst Daniel Wagner, the starting asking price that Vancouver allegedly wants in return for Sherwood is another first-round draft pick.

So far this year, Sherwood has 17 points (13G, 4A) in 33 games played. He was never drafted into the NHL and signed an entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks in 2018 after playing three years at Miami University.

He's also played for the Nashville Predators before signing a two-year contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $1.5 million with the Canucks in 2024.

Per a new report from NHL analyst Bruce Garrioch, there are at least six teams that have contacted the Canucks about a potential Sherwood acquisition.

Additionally, Conor Garland is a routinely talked-about player in trade rumours. He has 19 points (7G, 12A) in 27 games.
