Per a new report from NHL analyst Darren Dreger, there is one particular holdup in a potential trade by the Vancouver Canucks of towering defenseman Tyler Myers.

It's been a year of pure misery for the Vancouver Canucks under head coach Adam Foote, who was given the job after the departure of former Jack Adams Trophy winner Rick Tocchet to the Philadelphia Flyers during the summer.
There could yet still be several difficult decisions ahead for GM Patrik Allvin, and one of them may involve towering defenseman Tyler Myers.
Myers still has a year left beyond this one on his contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $3 million, a reasonable amount that wouldn't scare off any potential suitors.
But per a new report from NHL analyst Darren Dreger, there is one particular holdup in a potential deal of Myers.
Darren Dreger: Re Tyler Myers rumours: If push comes to shove...and it happens in-season, it's gonna have to be a destination of choice for [him] to even give it any consideration - Sekeres & Price (1/26)
So far this year, Myers has eight points (1G, 7A) in 55 games.

The Canucks Have Already Made Multiple Trades Dating Back To Last Year

Nothing has gone right for the Canucks in the last two seasons, especially the current one.
Last season, they missed the playoffs only a year after being crowned the Pacific Division champions, and they're currently on track to be the worst team in the Western Conference.
Last year, they traded disgruntled forward JT Miller to the New York Rangers, and this year, they traded captain Quinn Hughes to the Minnesota Wild and later, forward Kiefer Sherwood to the divisional foe San Jose Sharks.
Multiple other names are still heavily embroiled in trade rumours, including Conor Garland, Elias Pettersson and Jake DeBrusk.
