The Canucks held a morning skate today, where both Elias Pettersson and Nils Hoglander were on the ice, but neither will likely play vs. the Flyers.
The Vancouver Canucks (15-17-3) finish off their five-game road trip on Monday against the Philadelphia Flyers (17-10-7).
The Canucks have taken all four contests so far on this trip and will be seeking their first winning streak of five games since the beginning of the 2023-24 season.
This will also be the final game before the holiday break as the NHL season progresses. The Canucks return on December 27.
What Elias Pettersson and Nils Hoglander did this morning
Elias Pettersson and Nils Höglander are participating in the Canucks' morning skate, but it appears that neither will dress for this game against the Flyers.
It would be difficult for the Canucks, who have experienced success with depth scoring, without Pettersson.
In order to extend their winning streak to a fifth straight victory, the Canucks would have to beat Rick Tocchet, who is their former head coach.
Why the Canucks are playing the Flyers at the right time
Philadelphia has started the season quite well and is currently in a Wild Card position, but it has lacked consistency in its games, winning merely three of the last 10 outings.
The Canucks will also have to work as a complete unit if they want to perform better than they did on Saturday.
The team was outshot by 20 Saturday night, but goaltender Kevin Lankinen did everything in his power to give his team a chance to win.
Of course, the Canucks have two capable goaltenders, but they cannot win games for them every night. Puck drop is set for 4:30 PM PT tonight.
