Jets in trade talks with Rangers over Nikolaj Ehlers
The New York Rangers are making their intentions clear. They want Nikolaj Ehlers from the Winnipeg Jets.
The Blueshirts have offered a mix of Kaapo Kakko, Filip Chytil, and prospect Brennan Othmann for Ehlers and a 3rd-round pick. However, they also seem more focused on Trevor Zegras from the Anaheim Ducks.
I would stand off the Ehlers rumors to NYR for now.
NYR want Zegras. He hasn't been traded. I don't think NYR gna show much in Ehlers unless Zegras gets moved elsewhere.

If the Rangers strike gold, they'll finally receive the top six winger they've been looking for to play with Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad.

Yet a three for one trade for Ehlers, who's on an expiring contract, wouldn't be balanced, which is why these players have been offered in different scenarios.

These players have all been offered in a combination of trades. Not all for one. That would be extremely lobsided. Ehlers only has 1 year left on his contract.
