Oilers' Tristan Jarry has unfortunately been placed on LTIR as his situation isn't improving, and in the process, the team activated Kasperi Kapanen.

Tristan Jarry was placed on long-term injured reserve on Tuesday as he continues to recover from a lower-body injury, which marks yet another twist in Edmonton's goaltending situation.
Jarry has already missed seven games, so the LTIR move does not change his expected recovery timeline, but at the same time, it also does not speed up his return.

What Tristan Jarry did in his short time with the Oilers before getting hurt

Since being acquired by the Oilers, the 30-year-old goaltender went 3-0-0 despite a 3.08 goals-against average, although he did look solid in his net.
With Jarry sidelined, Edmonton will rely on Connor Ingram and Calvin Pickard to carry the netminding duties while the team looks to stabilize its crease and continue its push towards the playoffs.
There was at least some positive news for the Oilers on the injury front. Kasperi Kapanen is set to return on Tuesday against the Nashville Predators, marking his first game since October 19th after missing 36 games with a lower-body injury.

Where Kasperi Kapanen will slot into the lineup

The 29-year-old winger is expected to slot directly into a second-line role alongside Leon Draisaitl, which will give him a strong opportunity to quickly regain offensive rhythm and help Edmonton's lineup as it navigates a crucial stretch of the season.
With Jarry on LTIR and Kapanen back, the Oilers are making adjustments to both their net and to their forward lines, balancing recovery timelines with immediate roster needs as they look to continue climbing the standings.
